President's Message

Our beautiful country celebrates the 150th anniversary of confederation this year and we here at the Perth & District Agricultural Society are honoring this event with our “O Canada” theme at out fair this year! Be sure to take time to walk through the Homecraft Building on your visit to Perth Fair this year and admire the handy work of our exhibitors showing their Canadian pride and craftsmanship and be amazed at the handicrafts, quilting and sewing, bottled and baked goods, photography, floral arrangements and much more! And I will hope to see your name on the exhibitors list as I admire all the entries myself!

I am humbled to be a small part of the Perth & District Agricultural Society, an organization that has been showcasing agriculture and rural living for the past 172 years! And we are proud as always to have many livestock shows throughout our weekend to continue this tradition. Make sure to come by and see Dairy and Beef shows, our Goat show, Horse shows and of course our next generation of farmers as our local 4-H members show their calves too! The Perth fair is a tradition built on excellence that happens every year thanks to the hard work and dedication of many enthusiastic volunteers. The words “Thank You” simply don’t seem to be enough, but from the bottom of my heart I do thank each and every one of you, our Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and Members and everyone that volunteers their time throughout the year to help make Perth Fair happen. Without you, there would be no Perth Fair at all.

The Perth Fair continues to grow and change, but our focus will always be to showcase our agricultural and rural roots. This year we will see many of our favorite events and a few new ones, livestock shows, entertainment at the grandstand, the midway and of course the delicious “fair food” we all love to indulge in once a year! There is something to see and do every day so please come on out and don’t miss any of the action!

See you at the Perth Fair!

Laurie Latham
2017 President

About the Perth Fair

The Perth and District Agricultural Society was founded in 1845. Many things have changed over the years, including the name and location of the society. One thing that has remained is the dedicated volunteer base which has supported the organization over the years.

Did you know? - The Perth and District Agricultural Society is a non-profit organization that hosts the Perth Fair on Labour Day weekend in Perth, ON. The organization is made up of hundreds of volunteers who come together to present a balance between agricultural and entertainment events.

We continue to build upon tradition while embracing the future and look to bring the best possible Fair to the Perth Fairgrounds. Have you considered volunteering? Become a member of a strong volunteer based organization. Please contact us at volunteer@perthfair.com .
